Do you love tropical, beachy, or coastal decor? Then, head to your local Dollar Tree and pick up a starfish wreath form to make a tropical woven starfish wreath.

Dollar Tree Tropical Woven Starfish Wreath

On my recent visit to the Dollar Tree, I knew I had to pick up the starfish wreath form. At the time, I had no clue what I was going to do with it, but it was a must-have moment. And if you want this wreath form, I suggest you head to your local Dollar Tree ASAP because I see this selling out.

Supplies

All the supplies can be purchased at the Dollar Tree, but I chose to buy the twine at my local craft store. This is because I used almost an entire 200 ft. roll of twine and my local store was out of twine.

  • starfish wreath form
  • twine – when buying twine, try to purchase a thicker twine. This will help fill in the form quicker. The one I used is a test strength of 100 lbs. and is about 1/8″ wide (try to get one slightly larger).
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun/glue sticks
  • clips/mini clothes pins – I used mini clothes pins and they constantly broke. I suggest using mini metal clips.
  • tweezers – get one with a pointed tip.
  • tape
  • optional – decorative shells, starfish, sea glass, etc…

Steps to Make a Tropical Woven Starfish Wreath (Video)

Instead of a step-by-step tutorial with images, I decided to shoot a video. It’s much easier to understand the steps through the video. See the timestamps to jump to any part that you want to watch or rewatch.

  • 05:00 How to start weaving the starfish body
  • 10:25 How to end the body of the starfish
  • 17:50 How to start the starfish arm
  • 26:20 How to lenghten the twine by knotting twine together (lengthening twine)
