Chocolate Kahlua Cupcakes with Kahlua Buttercream Frosting
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, can you believe it?! So today, I’m sharing one of my favorite recipes to celebrate the day – Chocolate Kahlua Cupcakes with Kahlua Buttercream Frosting!
This is a delicious and super easy recipe that I grew up eating and is one of my favorite desserts…EVER! Originally, this was a cake recipe, but for Valentine’s Day, I decided to make this into frosted chocolate Kahlua cupcakes!
Of course, if you want to skip the Kahlua frosting (skip if serving to kids), the cupcakes are fabulous on their own. Seriously, my family can devour two dozen in two days!

Can I increase the butter and not use shortening?
Yes, just be aware that butter is more sensitive to heat/cold. It can melt if too warm and won’t look as pretty.
