Now that you know what Influenster is all about, let me tell you about the fun products I received in my third VoxBox, #FrostyVoxBox. This box contained 7 items: McCormick Gourmet Thyme, Fruit Vines Bites, EcoTools Hair Brush, Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea, NYC Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum, Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof Koh Kajal Eyeliner, Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover, and No7 Protect and Perfect Intense Advanced Serum. (View my unboxing of the #FrostyVoxBox on Youtube)
ecoTOOLS Styler + Smoother Hair Brush (Retail Value $10.99) – ecoTOOLS is an earth friendly beauty company. This brush is crafted with a bamboo handle, repurposed aluminum, and is made of 80% recycled materials. The Styler + Smoother brush is ideal for all hair types and is a versatile 3-in-1 brush that styles, smooths, and gently detangles hair. The unique EcoVent design dries hair up to 20% faster* for less heat damage and it also has a frizz and static-fighting design.
My experience – While I can’t 100% tell if my hair dries any faster with this brush vs. my old brush, it’s nice to have the 3-in-1 design that can be used to brush, smooth, and style my hair. Instead of having a round brush AND flat brush, all I need is this one brush that can do the work of both. Definitely a plus if you’re limited in space or just don’t want to fuss with multiple brushes.
*Tested vs. a leading brush
No7 Protect & Perfect (Retail Value $22.99 – 29.99) – According to the package sample, this serum is powered by Matrixyl 3000 Plus (TM), a combination of the most powerful form of Matrixyl plus a next generation peptide that work together to help restore youthful skin. Skin looks younger after 2 weeks and by 4 weeks deep lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced.
My experience – I’ve only been using this for a week and can’t say if my skin looks any younger. I was sent a very small sample and I don’t think I’ll make it to 4 weeks to receive the full benefits of this serum. What I did notice from the few times I’ve applied it was that my skin feels much softer after application and has no greasy residue. The serum is hypo-allergenic with no perfume scent, which is great for those that don’t care for strong smells.
NYC Expert Last Lip Color in Sugar Plum (Retail Value $1.99) – NYC lip color comes in 20 different shades and lasts up to 6 hours.
My Experience – Normally, I just wear a gloss with a little hint of color because I don’t like to bring attention to my cleft lip. However, since I was given NYC Expert Last Lip Color to try, I decided to give it a go. The first thing I noticed about this lip color is that it went on smoothly like a nice coating of moisturizer on my lips. The Sugar Plum shade is a nice medium tone lip color that almost anyone can wear.
To test out the 6 hour claim, I put on the lip color and went about my normal daily activities, which included eating some crackers and drinking a cup of hot cocoa. Even though the color was still present, I did reapply after 2 hours because I felt that the lip color was drying out a bit. Overall, I think this felt nice on the lips and had good color saturation.
SCANDALEYES Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner (Retail Value $4.49) – Gives instant color impact with high intensity pigments. There are 10 colors available.
My experience – I’m on the fence with this one. While I agree that the liner gives intense color, I’m not sure it’s as creamy or glides on as smoothly as the brand that I normally use. Will I use it? Yes, but I think there are better eyeliners on the market.
RIMMEL Gentle Eye Makeup Remover (Retail Value $7.49) – Gently removes ALL eye makeup with no oily residue. It removes long-lasting waterproof makeup and is suitable for sensitive eyes.
My experience – I followed the directions and applied some of the eye makeup remover to a cotton pad and gently rubbed off my eye makeup. I think it did a great job at removing my mascara and eyeliner with ease.
McCormick Gourmet THYME (Retail Value $4.79) – McCormick is America’s number 1 spice brand. For 125 years, McCormick has picked herbs and spices at their peak of freshness to ensure the best flavor.
My experience – My spice cabinet is filled with lots of McCormick herbs and spices, so I already use this brand on a daily basis and love it. I do notice a difference in flavor when buying generic brands on certain spices and I tend to stick to McCormick for the best flavored spices and herbs.
Fruit Vine Bites (Retail Value $1.28 – $1.79) – Fruit Vines Bites are soft chewy bite sized candy that are low-fat and preservative free. There are currently two flavors – strawberry and cherry.
My experience – My entire family enjoyed eating this candy. If you like the regular Red Vines Candy, you’ll like these. It had a nice mouth feel and wasn’t too sweet or sugary. I would definitely keep a bag of these around for a quick treat.
Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Decaf Green Tea – This tea is a seasonal flavor with the taste of peppermint, cinnamon, vanilla, and green tea.
My experience – I drink a lot of tea and this was my first time drinking this flavor from Celestial Seasonings. Since I normally drink green tea with mint, the initial smell of the botanicals mixed in with the peppermint was a little strange. After a few sips, my nose and palette adjusted to the new taste and I thoroughly enjoyed drinking my cup of tea on Christmas day.
Overall, my favorite products from this box was the ecoTOOLs hair brush, the McCormick Gourmet THYME, RIMMEL Eye Makeup Remover, and the Red Vines Bites. I also drink Celestial Seasonings Teas and will most likely purchase a different flavor. All other products are items that I may or may not purchase in the future.
Have you tried any of these products and have feedback? Please leave them in the comments below.
This looks a great box 🙂 thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays…
Thanks for the Terrific Review of your VoxBox. I have tried the McCormick Spices before and do have some in my cabinet. I have also had Celestial Seasonings Tea before. However, I’m not a fan of green tea. I haven’t tried any of the other products that you received. A lot of them sound interesting and something I would love to try! I really do appreciate you explaining and reviewing everything that was contained in your box! Thanks so much! Michele 🙂
