I have been provided products from Halos® to spread #halosfun! All opinions are my own.
It’s that time again! I’m bringing you more Halos® fun! So far, I’ve shared a Halos Honey Sugar Scrub and Chocolate Dipped Mandarin Orange Slices. This time, I’m sharing a delicious light dessert that’s a perfect addition to a spring meal, Homemade Whipped Cream Fruit Salad.
Since this month’s Halos® fun box was an Easter theme, it got me thinking about what I like to eat during spring. For me, spring signals all things fresh and green, so fruit salads are top on my list. And since it’s Halos® season, I thought, why not incorporate fresh mandarins in my fruit salad?!

Homemade Whipped Cream Fruit Salad
Now, the best thing about fruit salad is that you can customize the ingredients to suit your own taste. For example, I like maraschino cherries, but it isn’t my kids’ favorite, so I cut back on the amount I add in. None of us like too much coconut, so I add just enough for texture. I love the crunch of nuts in the salad, but my boys aren’t fans, so I don’t add too much. We all like the fresh fruit, so I added fresh grapes (I hate the mushy grapes in canned fruit cocktails) and Halos® instead of canned mandarins. Get the picture? Just swap out things you don’t like with things you like or reduce ingredients to your own taste. Easy peasy!
Another great thing about this salad, the homemade whipped cream! Unlike the store bought whipped cream in the tub, you can adjust the amount of sugar in the cream. Add more or less sugar to your taste.
Once the fruits and add-ins are combined, fold in the whipped cream and serve. But fair warning, this homemade whipped cream fruit salad can be addictive!
What’s your favorite way to incorporate fresh fruit into dessert?
