Simple Glitter Seashell Ornaments
I’ll be sharing my tree soon and because this is my first time creating an ocean themed tree, I’m kind of short on sea themed ornaments. And because themed ornaments can get pricey, this is an affordable and easy way to make lots of seashell ornaments on the cheap!
Supplies:
- various large seashells
- glitter
- Mod Podge or craft glue
- paint brush
- hot glue gun/glue sticks
- twine
How to:
Brush off any dirt on the shells. Make knotted loops with twine that are large enough to fit over a tree branch. Glue into place inside the shell.
Brush on Mod Podge onto the shell and sprinkle glitter over it while it is still wet. Let dry.
Keep in mind, there is no right or wrong way to decorate the seashells. Add Mod Podge and glitter in whatever way you like. I used clear glitter, brown glitter, and a bit of fine silver on my shells, but use colors you like.
Note: Substitute craft glue if you do not have Mod Podge.
I love that these simple glitter seashell ornaments are ready in minutes and helps fill in small gaps on my ocean themed tree! For more DIY Ornament Ideas, scroll down to the blog hop below⇓

I love easy ways to use shells for ornaments. Added glitter is a great idea!
Oh Erlene… I love these! Our oldest daughter was given a whole bunch of shells and I know what we’re going to be doing this with some of them!
Perfect ornament for a coastal or lake home! Or for a landlocked person like me who dreams of living near water.
