How to make Blood Clot Jello.I know. The name blood clot Jello sound pretty gross and it looks disgusting, but it’s a perfect treat for a Halloween dessert table. If you can make Jello, you can make this blood clot Jello and it doesn’t require any fancy equipment/molds.
Blood Clot Halloween Jello
How to make blood clot Halloween Jello. Easy and no special equipment needed.
Ingredients
- 1 - 6 oz. box black cherry Jell-o
- 1 - 6 oz. box cherry Jell-o
- 1 - packet gelatin
- 4 cups cold water
- 4 cups boiling hot water
- optional - whipped cream or cottage cheese
Instructions
- Add 1 cup cold water into a bowl. Sprinkle gelatin over the water. Set aside for 5-minutes.
- Pour contents of black cherry Jell-o into a flat bottom container. Add 2 cups boiling hot water. Stir to dissolve. Stir in 1 cup cold water and add in the gelatin water. Stir to combine. Cover and let set in refrigerator 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
- Make cherry Jell-o according to box directions. Place in the fridge for 1 1/2 - 2 hours to soft set. Take a fork or spoon and mix the Jell-o until it's soft and clumpy.
- Use a knife and cut the black cherry Jell-o into small squares. Take a spoon and gently mix to remove the squares. It's okay to slightly break the squares for a more organic look.
- Poor the black cherry Jell-o squares over the cherry Jell-o. Leave as is or slightly bring some of the cherry Jell-o over the black cherry Jell-o squares. Put back in the fridge to set fully. Fluff with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Depending on your refrigerator temperature, it may take more or less time for the Jell-o to set. Check after an 1 1/2 hours. The black cherry Jell-o should be set completely and the cherry Jell-o should be soft set before assembling.
- To speed up set time, a mix of ice and water can be used. See Jell-o box of details. Make sure to remove any unmelted ice.
- The Jello looks best served in a large container, but can be served in individual cups.
- This can be served topped with whipped cream or mix in cottage cheese.
