Ingredients

  • 1 - 6 oz. box black cherry Jell-o
  • 1 - 6 oz. box cherry Jell-o
  • 1 - packet gelatin
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 4 cups boiling hot water
  • optional - whipped cream or cottage cheese

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup cold water into a bowl. Sprinkle gelatin over the water. Set aside for 5-minutes.
  2. Black cherry Jello set in container Pour contents of black cherry Jell-o into a flat bottom container. Add 2 cups boiling hot water. Stir to dissolve. Stir in 1 cup cold water and add in the gelatin water. Stir to combine. Cover and let set in refrigerator 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
  3. Make cherry Jell-o according to box directions. Place in the fridge for 1 1/2 - 2 hours to soft set. Take a fork or spoon and mix the Jell-o until it's soft and clumpy.
  4. Cherry and Black Cherry Jello Use a knife and cut the black cherry Jell-o into small squares. Take a spoon and gently mix to remove the squares. It's okay to slightly break the squares for a more organic look.
  5. Blood clot jello in bowl side view Poor the black cherry Jell-o squares over the cherry Jell-o. Leave as is or slightly bring some of the cherry Jell-o over the black cherry Jell-o squares. Put back in the fridge to set fully. Fluff with a fork before serving.

Notes

  • Depending on your refrigerator temperature, it may take more or less time for the Jell-o to set. Check after an 1 1/2 hours. The black cherry Jell-o should be set completely and the cherry Jell-o should be soft set before assembling.
  • To speed up set time, a mix of ice and water can be used. See Jell-o box of details. Make sure to remove any unmelted ice.
  • The Jello looks best served in a large container, but can be served in individual cups.
  • This can be served topped with whipped cream or mix in cottage cheese.
