Have you heard about Betty Crocker’s #SpreadCheer campaign? It’s all about making the world a better place during the holiday season by spreading cheer with the gift of cookies! It’s a simple way to surprise the people you care about and let them know how much you appreciate all that they do.
For me, it’s easy to come up with people that deserve cookie baskets. There is the postman, who constantly brings all of my boxes to my front door. Then, there is my neighbor Mr. M, the electrician, who never charges us for fixing our electrical problems. Oh, and I can’t forget all of the kids’ coaches who give freely of their spare time. There are a number of other people that touch our lives each day, but I decided to make my first few Spread Cheer – Holiday Cookie Gift Baskets for my husband and his co-workers.
You see, my husband and a few of his buddies will be working a 12-hour security shift on Thanksgiving and into Black Friday morning to help keep the holiday shopping madness in check. If you’ve taken part in the Black Friday craziness, you know how insane people can get. Fights break out, tempers flare, people get trampled, and so much more – it’s just a stressful time to be working security. And since my husband and his co-workers are sacrificing time with family to ensure the safety of Black Friday shoppers, I thought it was only fitting to send a #SpreadCheer cookie basket to work with him.
Since I didn’t want my husband to know what I was doing, my daughter and I baked the cookies in the late hours before Thanksgiving morning. Thanks to the Betty Crocker cookie pouches, I was able to make three cookies in record time – peanut butter, sugar cookies, and chocolate chip!
Depending on the cookie, all I needed to do was open the cookie pouches, add a few additional ingredients, and bake. Easy-peasy!
Here’s my daughter helping me with the sugar cookies. She had a blast cutting out fun shapes and decorating the cookies with royal icing.
Spread Cheer – Holiday Cookie Gift Baskets
Once the cookies were done, I packaged them in cute bags and baskets. Then, I headed to the Betty Crocker #SpreadCheer page and printed out the FREE cookie gift tags to add the finishing touches to my Spread Cheer – Holiday Cookie Gift Baskets. Betty Crocker has made it so easy to brighten someone’s holiday that I plan to make more cookie baskets!
Want to help spread cheer and let someone know that their good deeds don’t go unnoticed? You only need to follow four simple steps:

Do I really have to pick a favourite? That is so unfair! -lol- I love chocolate so naturally I would gravitate towards the Chocolate Chip Reindeer Cookies. Then my eyes glance over and see ever so cute Present Cookies and not to mention tiny Mitten Cookies and Christmas Tree cookies that are all made from some of my favourite things. I cannot pick a favourite. LOL
