This year, I’m embracing the spirit of the holiday season through a tropical lens with a Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree! Like my 2021 Elegant Tropical Christmas Tree, this Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree offers a refreshing departure from traditional green and red holiday decor.
I’ve been seeing King of Christmas trees from fellow bloggers for years. I have always wanted to dress one of their beautiful trees, so when they asked me if I would like to participate in this year’s event, it was an easy decision! And I knew that I wanted to create a Sea Green Tropical Christmas tree with the hues of the sea and the exotic allure of green tropical landscapes, which infuse a delightful touch of coastal charm.
Why Choose A King of Christmas Tree
Before I share this year’s Sea Blue Tropical Christmas tree, I know that artificial trees can be quite an investment. But here are a few reasons to consider purchasing a King of Christmas tree:
Quality and Durability: Unlike real trees, there’s no need to worry about pine needles, branches drooping, yearly disposal, or upkeep during the holiday season. King of Christmas trees are known for their high-quality materials and craftsmanship, ensuring durability and longevity for years. The hinges and individual branches are sturdy and can hold heavier ornaments if needed. Note: A tree bag is also provided to help protect your tree for storage.
Variety of Options: They offer a wide range of tree styles, sizes, and designs to suit different preferences and decor themes, allowing you to find the perfect tree for your space. They even have a “Tree Quiz” to help you choose the best tree for you!
Appearance: King of Christmas trees offers classic foilage and realistic-looking branches that resemble natural trees. The 7′ King Noble Fir Artificial Christmas Tree with 500 Warm White LED Lights I chose has realistic branches on the outside and classic ‘leaves’ on the inside near the trunk.
Easy Setup: Tree assembly is super easy. The tree I chose took less than 15 minutes to assemble and fluff. I opened the box, set up the stand, inserted the tree trunk pieces into each other, and plugged it in! King of Christmas even provides gloves to protect your hands when fluffing out the branches. And the best part was the remote control to turn on the tree lights! No more squeezing behind the tree to turn on a switch or plug it in…I love it!
Reputation: King of Christmas has built a strong reputation in the industry for providing top-notch Christmas trees and excellent customer service.
Decorating a Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree
A Good Base
Honestly, having a good Christmas tree base is the first decorating tip. A good tree base sets the background for whatever theme you choose. Since I wanted to go for a tropical or beachy holiday vibe, I chose the 7′ King Noble Fir Artificial Christmas Tree with 500 Warm White LED Lights, which has a slightly bluish tint to the foliage. This tree reminds me of Hawaiian-style Christmas trees that tend to have wider spaces between the branches, so it fits perfectly with a tropical theme.
Color and Theme
It can be overwhelming to shop for holiday decorations, so it’s best to come up with a color scheme and overall tree theme before going shopping. This will help keep the focus on only those decorations and ornaments that fit the overall Christmas tree theme.
Since I wanted to use my existing tropical art, I used it to pull the sea green color theme for my holiday tree. In addition, I mixed in some clear ornaments for an underwater bubble effect, added light gold seahorse ornaments from my stash, and sea green poinsettia for a festive look!
Ornaments and Decorations
Once a color scheme and theme are chosen, it’s time for decorations! Whether you are on a budget or not, it is possible to create a beautiful tree. When choosing ornaments, try to get different sizes, finishes (matte, shiny, glitter, etc.), and textures to add visual interest. This Sea Blue Tropical Christmas Tree was created using basic round ornaments in my chosen sea green color theme with a few key pieces: seahorse ornaments, textured aqua ornaments, tinsel, and inexpensive holiday picks. Psst…Did I mention that King of Christmas also offers a gorgeous selection of quality ornaments? They do, so make sure to check those out too!
Budget-friendly Decorating Tip
Floral picks are usually less expensive than specialty ornaments. Use floral picks to fill in large spaces on a Christmas tree and scatter basic ball ornaments throughout.
Lights
I usually add more lights to my trees, so I was happy that I didn’t need to put additional lights on the 7′ King Noble Fir Artificial Christmas Tree. If you want to add more lights, consider adding large bulbed lights for an added visual variety. Of course, if you prefer an unlit tree, King of Christmas has an unlit version too!
How to Decorate a Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree
If you’ve followed me over the years, you know that I have an order I follow when decorating a tree. Usually, I start decorating by adding the garland first. But since I’m not using a garland this year, I started adding floral picks and the largest ornaments down the tree in a zig-zag pattern. Once these items were on the tree, I filled in large empty spaces with smaller ornaments. Lastly, I draped sheer tinsel on the tips of the branches. Easy peasy!
Decorating Tip
As you decorate the tree, take breaks to step back and view it from different angles. This will help you identify ornaments that may need adjustment or areas that require additional filling. Don’t be afraid to move things around!
Finishing Touches
Tree Skirt
A tree skirt isn’t necessary since holiday presents tend to hide the stand, but I used my existing natural woven collar – which looks like a basket and completes the look of this Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree. Alternative options for a tropical tree skirt would be a teal green or sand-colored fabric skirt.
Tree Topper
Do you put your topper on first or last? I’m team last because I like to see the decorated tree before adding the crowning touch. Sometimes I go for elaborate toppers, but for this Christmas tree, I kept it simple. I chose to use several crystal picks that were used throughout the tree as the final topper. To me, this looks like little bubbles escaping to the top of the ocean. For a more dramatic tree top, consider embellishing it with ribbon, ornaments, or a luminous topper.
I hope you enjoyed this year’s unique Sea Green Tropical Christmas Tree. It’s a delightful way to infuse your holiday decor with tropical charm. By incorporating your chosen tropical element(s) and ornaments in shades of the ocean, you can create a stunning tree that captures the essence of a tropical paradise.
