Seashell Eggs

My inspiration for these seashell eggs came from an image on Pinterest of a seashell covered pot, which you can see here–>>> PIN INSPIRATION. This image also inspired me to create a seashell pineapple jar that is displayed in my craft room.

Supplies:

  • paper mache eggs
  • white chalk paint
  • small white ark seashells
  • hot glue/glue gun
  • paint brush

How to:

Paint the paper mache eggs with a coat of white chalk paint. Let dry.

The shells will come in various sizes, so quickly group the shells by size. Use the smaller ones at the top of the egg and larger ones towards the bottom. I start by gluing three small shells at the top of the egg and layer the following row of shells with a slight overlap on the upper row.

When the middle of the egg is reached, flip the egg over so the shell covered portion is facing down. This will help keep the shells in place until the glue is completely dry. Continue to glue shells onto the egg until the entire shell is covered.

Note: It may be necessary to use partial or broken shells to fill in the bottom of the egg.

Here’s the seashell eggs on display on my mantel. The eggs fit in so nicely with my tropical decor and gives me just the right amount of the spring feels.
