Note

Easy cinnamon doughnuts using premade store bought biscuits, sugar, and cinnamon. Must be served fresh and hot. Do not make ahead of time or the doughnuts will be hard and chewy.

Amount of oil used will depend on the size of pot used. At least 1 inch depth of oil is needed.

Directions

Step 1
Add enough oil to a pot to have at least 1" to 1 1/2" of oil. Heat oil on medium heat until the oil reaches 300°F to 325°F.
Step 2
While the oil is heating up, mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl/pan. Set aside. Open the biscuit tubes and layout all the biscuits onto parchment paper. Punch a 1/2" hole into each biscuit with your fingers or use a cupcake corer.
Step 3
Add biscuits to the heated oil and cook until one side is golden brown and flip over. Cook until both sides are golden brown. Remove from the oil and drop into sugar/cinnamon mixture to coat. Serve immediately and warm. DO NOT make these ahead of time.
