Chocolate and Oats Graham Bars

  • 12 Whole graham crackers
  • 1 1/2 Cups rolled oats
  • 3/4 Cups sugar
  • 3/4 Cups brown sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 2/3 Cups butter (melted)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 12-oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 - 3/4 Cups smoked flavored almonds (coarsely chopped)


Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Line a 15 x 10 inch baking pan with foil and place the graham crackers in a single layer on it.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, sugars, and flour. Add in the melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Stir well and spread over the graham crackers. Try to spread all the way to the edges of the pan to prevent the crackers from browning.
Step 3
Bake 15-20 minutes or until the oat mixtures begins to brown and bubble on top. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Step 4
Return the pan to the oven for 1 minute. Remove the pan and spread the softened chocolate over the oats to cover it. Then, sprinkle the almonds over the chocolate. Let the pan bars cool and lift out of the pan using the foil. Cut or break into pieces. Store in the refrigerator.
