If you’ve been following along, you know that I’ve been working on updating/refreshing the front door area. It’s a tiny covered landing that really had no appeal at all. In fact, it was a little depressing to look at, but it’s in the process of changing for the better!
I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to this week. I kind of got stuck on finding the right doormats for the area. The one I originally wanted had sold out before I had a chance to order it ….waah, waah 🙁 I had my heart set on this doormat and when it sold out, it sort of threw me for a loop, but I put my big girl panties on a decided to shop around. At first, I kept my search to just doormats, but couldn’t find the right look until I wandered into the kitchen aisle at Target. Yes, I bought kitchen rugs for my front door area and I love it! I may even pick up one more yellow to create one giant rug – what do you think?
I also hung up the Mother’s Day Doily Wreath that I made using my grandmother’s doilies. I think adding a few accessories are helping to bring some cheer and life into the front door area.
Here are my plans:
red chair (done)potted plants (done)cabinet makeover (see below)front door decorationnew mats (done)- decor accents
- wood plank sign
- new ‘no solicitor’ sign – working on (It’s done! See it on Instagram!)
Check back next week to see the final results & let me know what you think about the changes so far!
I love how you are brightening everything! It’s coming along nicely!
