How to Asssemble the Gingerbread Treat Boxes
Step 1. Purchase and download the Gingerbread House Treat Boxes templates. It’s best to print these on heavy duty cardstock (110lb) to create a sturdy gift box.
Step 2. If you want to color the template, do it now OR color it after it is cut out. If you choose to leave the boxes black and white, skip to step 3.
Step 3. There should be two pages per treat box. Cut out both templates for each box.
Step 4. Fold the cut out template on the template lines. Use a popsicle stick, small ruler, or gift/credit card to help make crisp folds.
Step 5. Optional – If you want to add glitter or any embellishments to the gift box, add it after coloring and folding. Glue or Mod Podge can be used to adhere glitter to the boxes. Make sure to let the glue or Mod Podge dry before assembling the boxes.
Step 6. Assemble the boxes using double-sided tape (highly recommended), tape, or glue sticks. For the bottom of the box, use reglar tape on the inside of the box base for a clean look or tape across the outside bottom.
Step 7. Fill the boxes with lightweight candy or small item(s). Then to close the top, use tape or glue and fit the paste tabs inside the box (second image). To add a ribbon or small loop, use a hole punch and make two holes on the tabs. Next, string a ribbon through the hole and tie it.
Aren’t these gingerbread house treat boxes super cute?! To purchase the templates, head to the new digital shop!
