Want to celebrate American Heart Month in a simple and delicious way? Add Welch’s 100% Grape Juice to your diet and harness the power of purple!
Yes, you read that right! Purple is the cue that helps us identify fruits and vegetables with polyphenols. Over a decade of research has shown that the polyphenols and nutrients found in dark purple Concord grapes may help support flexible arteries and a healthy cardiovascular system. And drinking or eating products made from Concord grapes, along with an active lifestyle, can have a positive impact on our health.
However, finding fresh Concord grapes can be difficult. It has a short harvest season and can only be grown in certain regions of the country. Thankfully, Welch’s 100% Grape Juice has solved this problem by squeezing all the heart-healthy nutrients from the whole grape. The entire Concord grape, including the skin and seeds, are pressed to release polyphenols right into every bottle!
So it only makes sense to add Welch’s 100% Grape Juice to my family’s diet. It’s an easy and convenient way to for me to ensure my family is getting their daily fruit intake as well as the heart-healthy benefits of polyphenols and antioxidant vitamin C.
Oh, and did I mention that Welch’s 100% Grape Juice is naturally sweet? It satisfies my hubby’s sweet drink tooth and makes a fabulous sweetener for smoothies. My husband likes drinking Welch’s 100% Grape Juice as-is, but my kids love using it to create Concord Grape Smoothies. The juice adds just the right amount of natural sweetness to our prepared bags of frozen fruit for a quick smoothie treat. Either way, I know everyone is getting at least one serving of fruit (4-ounces of juice is equal to 1 serving of fruit) and harnessing the power of purple!

Delicious Concord grapes are part of a nutritious diet, but should not be used to treat any health issues. Eating a well-balanced diet of fruits and vegetables, paired with physical activity is important for maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle. Any health concerns should always be discussed with your physician.

This looks great! (…and it’s not a green smoothie -I have a picky, green food-averse kid- who would probably like it too!) Truthfully I had no idea about purple being the color for heart health, so thanks for that bit of trivia also! Thanks for linking up this week!

This looks like such a refreshing treat! I feel like, nowadays, there are so many hidden sugars in juices. It’s important to read the labels like on this one to ensure that what you’re getting is simply fruit!

It’s so weird because I never thought to use grape before, but I love how sweet Concord grapes are. I no longer have to worry about adding honey or anything else for sweetness. Love it!

Your photos made me wonder if it would be good with Welch’s grape jelly/jam instead. Seems like it would make it even thicker!

My kids suggested this and we’re going to try it. The smoothie is pretty thick as it is because I freeze all the fruits before making these.
