If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you’ll know that I have teenagers that are always hungry. The kitchen is their first stop after-school or whenever they decide to come out of their rooms and grace me with their presence. So, when I heard about Giorgio’s BLENDABELLA Summer Recipe Blogger Challenge, I thought it would be fun to kick up the flavor of a favorite after school snack, Pizza Bubble Bread, by adding the Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA into the mix. And guess what?! The kids love it!
If you aren’t familiar with BLENDABELLA, it’s a flavorful blend of diced Portabella mushrooms, vegetables, and herbs that can be used as a dip, topping, or add-in recipe ingredient. It comes in 3 regional flavors: Zesty Mexican, Rustic Tuscan, and Coconut Thai. These 12 ounce bottles are packed with flavor and can be purchased online on the BLENDABELLA website.

Bubble Pizza Bread with Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA
Like I mentioned before, bubble pizza bread isn’t new to my kids. It’s an after school snack that I’ve made before. However, the addition of the Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA and pizza sausage gave this tried and true recipe a flavor boost that the kids really enjoyed.
Note: to make this a vegetarian snack, omit the pizza sausage.
But what I love about this recipe is that it’s so easy and can be quickly prepared right before the kids get home from school. Just dump all the ingredients in a bowl, mix, dump into a pan, and bake!
When it’s done, I let it sit in the warm oven and the kids come home to freshly baked warm bubble pizza bread! Of course, this recipe isn’t just for after school. Bubble Pizza Bread with Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA is also great for game day gatherings, family parties, luncheons, and more! And for an easy second dish, use the leftover BLENDABELLA as a dip for chips or a spread for bread!

- 1/2 cup cheese pasta sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA
- 1/4 cup pizza sausage cut in half optional
- Can be served with a side of Zesty Mexican BLENDABELLA for dipping.
- Sausage can be substituted with pepperoni or omit it from the recipe.
