The first few weeks of the school season is pretty gnarly. All the kids have gotten used to staying up late and sleeping in late. So when school starts, it takes them a bit of time to adjust to the new early morning schedule. They always wait till the last second to wake-up, which doesn’t leave much time to eat breakfast.

This year, I’ve decided to plan ahead for the back to school craziness by preparing some Make Ahead Back to School Breakfast Recipes. This way, even on the most hectic mornings, the kids can still have a great breakfast in 5 minutes or less.

Freezer Friendly Breakfast Recipes

I tried to pick out recipes that use ingredients that most of us have in our pantry or are readily available at a regular market. The recipes below have the main ingredients listed so you can quickly see if it’s something you would like to try.

All of these recipes can be made ahead and frozen. Just pop these in the microwave for a quick and easy warm breakfast.

For the days that you just don’t have any time, here is a list of grab-n-go breakfasts. Some may need to be kept in the refrigerator and warmed for 30 seconds to a minute.

Breakfast Cookies – 

Breakfast Bars – 

  • Blueberry Oats Breakfast Bar @My Fussy Eater – main ingredients: blueberries, coconut oil, maple syrup, rolled oats, and nut butter. Can be frozen too!
  • Whole Grain Strawberry Breakfast Bars @Julie’s Eats & Treats – main ingredients: butter, brown sugar, almonds, whole wheat flour (AP flour can be substituted), oats, strawberry jam, strawberry, and more.
  • Banana Breakfast Bars @Crazy for Crust – main ingredients: bananas, coconut oil, brown sugar, egg, whole wheat flour, oats, and optional ingredients.
  • Oatmeal Breakfast Bars @Well Plated – main ingredients: oatmeal, wheat flour, milk, applesauce, cinnamon, and more.
  • Oatmeal Apple Breakfast Bar @Don’t Waste The Crumbs – main ingredients: oat flour, whole wheat flour, honey, rolled oats, apples, and more.

Muffins –

MISC.

  • Soaked Oatmeal Basics @Raising Generation Nourished – main ingredients: oatmeal, lemon, water, and various add-ins. This is cooked oatmeal kept in the refrigerator for the week.
